Everything has a story and a place in the landscape of the earth, memories within the environment and spirit of place within existence. Life is an adventure from the gift of the first breath to returning to the earth, learning to become and excel with living in the environment of the natural world to modern one.
NatureRuna
The Nature that we are all part of the binds and connects all things
The Runa, taken from the plural for Rune, meaning the whispers whispers of the secrets of wisdom that connect us to nature, and animist song of all things that are alive and all things are connected
What is Shamanascape?
It is a concept of linking spirit, well-being with the natural word.
The name of Shamanascape is derived from:
Shaman – a word from the Tungus region of Siberia what in essence means ‘the knower’ or ‘wise’ of what is seen and unseen, and:
Scape – from landscape, seascape and skyscape, what is around us, what we see, feel and hear. In botanical terms a ‘scape’ is the stalk of a flower that grows directly from the root, rooted in the earth. That is very apt as this concept is about finding the wisdom and knowledge within the landscapes of the earth and the self.
NatureRuna’s shamanascape looking beyond the veil of modern day perceptions that have been lost many and caused a disjointed relationships with the surroundings and
wholeness. In this we will be following the five principles of shamanic spirituality that are:
-
Everything is connected
-
Everything changes
-
Everything is conscious
-
Everything communicates
-
Everything is alive
NatureRuna’s aim is to awaken the thoughts and memories of people’s relation with the Earth and the spirit of place to respect and understand the place where we call home, in which this can help a persons well-being and the well-being of the natural environment, something which our ancestors knew only too well
The themes within NatureRuna are:
- Landscape and spirit of place
- Sacred landscape and landscape phenomenology
- Folklore and folk tales
- The music, sights and the senses
- The healing landscape
- Healing the body and soul – inner and outer landscape
NatureRuna – the shamanic landscape of that surrounds us, that interacts with us on spiritual and physical levels.

Everything has a story. The drum beats with the earth. The Runes whisper the mystery of…………..?
NatureRuna is based in Dorset, the poem below is about the birch trees growing amongst the bracken fern of winter at RSPB Arne Nature Reserve. But how did the trees get there? What was there before? Why are they there? All questions that can be asked when questing for wisdom, knowledge and enlightenment.
From the wave came out the stars
From the wandering earth came the spirit of belief
Of land and sea contorting in rages of hot and cold
From land to ice and then to sea
Islands abound and barren were they
Wind blows, awakening spirit
Then the lady of the woods Birch tree she grew
The birth of the forest in wisdom and life, something anew
